Producer Amanita Design, which mainly specializes in the classic point-and-click quest, has created a new platform game Creaks. And is it worth it to figure out what it is?
In fact, this company first announced itself more than 20 years ago. This happened in 2003 with the release of the Samorost quest. All users appreciated the quality of the image and the music image, while there were not very many works.
And after the success of this game, 2 sequels were launched, and in general, the series collected a large number of awards. After the introduction of Creaks, where there was no inventory or hidden objects, and you did not need to use the mouse, interest has grown in many ways. But not everyone liked that it was a step away from the usual storyline. Here the hero was simply thrown into a mysterious world with torn wallpaper. And no matter how much you move through the levels, understanding does not come. It is not clear what kind of world this is and where these unusual bird people come from, which appear more and more often. It is not clear why the lower floors are so furnished and the top is very bad.
With the motivation of the protagonist, too, not everything is clear. As soon as he saw that there is a mysterious door behind the wallpaper in his apartment, he immediately decides to see what is there. And even when it becomes clear that they don’t like guests here, the character’s interest does not disappear. All events, discoveries and surprises are accompanied by the same facial expression, where a little surprise and stupidity appear.
During the passage, you will need to go around ten floors, stairs that lead to different rooms. Everywhere there are transitions where monsters or hunters meet, dips in the floor and various interesting events. But there is one BUT here, namely watchdogs in the walled world. They can bite the hero with their powerful jaws if they manage to catch up.
There are also jellyfish, but they do not carry such a danger. On the other hand, they are constantly moving around the location and can only kill face to face. So, if you keep behind the jellyfish, you can avoid death. Also here, if an enemy hits a beam of light, it immediately becomes a piece of furniture.
That is, at the initial stage of the game, you just need to be extremely careful and simply bypass all the obstacles on the way. But over time, with each new level, the passage becomes more difficult, and to solve problems you need to perform more and more actions. Sometimes there is no immediate understanding of what needs to be done.
And it’s a bit sad that one puzzle leads to another puzzle. Around the corner, a new task immediately awaits.
